Not the One I Bought
Today I went to change my fragrance. the first choice wasn’t available, Bleu de Chanel, gone. so I moved to the second tier, and those weren’t there either. I ended up at the third tier, which is where I found the Afnan Supremacy collection, and after trying another two options or so options, 9PM Afnan, a few others from the Afnan line, I landed on Supremacy Oud, paid, and left.
The problem is that while I was testing everything, one of them got on my skin and stayed. Afnan Supremacy Collection, not the one I bought. I walked around the mall for an hour smelling like the better choice. it was still on me when I was three shops down, still there when I was already carrying the wrong bag.
I have a belief I’ve held for a while, that I keep the most beautiful things for better days. not as a rule I made, more like something I discovered about myself after the fact. today it worked against me. I chose the suboptimal while the better option was sitting right there on my wrist, and I left anyway. and then I had to think about it for an hour while buying unrelated things, which is the specific kind of annoyance that has no resolution except time. (or me washing that clothing I wore the fragrance on)
Supremacy Collection. I’ll get it next time.
